MARCH 28TH AT SHAWNEE PEAK MAINE
Judging Criteria for the Ice Coast Challenge
The Rider must perform committed, radical maneuvers in the most critical (steepest and largest) sections of the wave features with style, power, and speed to maximize scoring potential. Innovative and Progressive shredding will be taken into account when rewarding points for committed riding. The rider who executes this criteria with the Highest Degree of Difficulty and control shall be rewarded with the higher score. Big airs and grabs will not be scored any higher than a well executed turn. You can win this event without ever leaving the snow!
Ride the course like it’s a wave, draw your own unique lines and be creative with your riding. Style is important! Stay low, be powerful, go fast!
The Judges
The Judging panel will consist of local surf and snowboard shop owners, alongside industry brand representatives & guest judges throughout the day.
Scoring
The format for this year’s event will be based largely on a JAM format. The course will be opened for a designated time period where riders will take turns dropping in and charging the course. This format will give riders plenty of opportunities to make their runs as many times as possible, as the judges will be looking for overall impression.
Each rider will get at least two runs through the course. The top riders from each division will advance to finals to also be run in a Jam format. After the final the judges will award the top three riders in each division with first, second, and third place.
